Unleashed! ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7

ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7 is now available!

The 10.7 March release of ArcGIS Enterprise is full of new features and enhancements – from new options for your data, to new mapping styles, to brand new applications.

Key highlights of ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7 are:

  • ArcGIS Notebook Server – For mapping and analysis, ArcGIS Notebook Server brings a native Python notebook experience directly into ArcGIS Enterprise portal. When you install and configure ArcGIS Notebook Server with your deployment, users will be able to create, edit, and share Jupyter notebooks hosted in your portal. To learn more about ArcGIS Notebook, read Scott MacDonald’s blog; or watch Shannon Kalisky demonstrates how to use ArcGIS Notebooks for putting ArcPy and the ArcGIS API for Python at your fingertips for doing advanced spatial analysis; or, watch Shaun Walbridge demonstrates the use of Python throughout the ArcGIS platform.
  • New tools for GeoAnalytics Server - At 10.7, GeoAnalytics Server brings in seven new tools – Clip Layer, Dissolve Boundaries, Enrich From Multi-Variable Grid, Forest-based Classification and Regression, Generalized Linear Regeression, Merge Layers, and Describe Dataset. For more information, see what’s new help topic.
  • Offline Map Areas – You can now create offline map areas with a pre-determined extent and update offline areas on a regular schedule. Go here to learn more about taking web maps offline.
  • Webhooks – You can now set up notification systems, automated quality assurance and more with webhooks When a certain action occurs in the portal, a JSON message is posted to the webhook’s URL describing the action. To learn more about webhooks, read the blog of David Vitale and Indhu Kamala Kumar or watch their video on “How To Use Webhooks With ArcGIS”; or see the webhooks documentation for complete details.
  • Shared Instances In ArcGIS Server – This is a game changer for GIS services as it addresses RAM issues. On ArcGIS Server, you can now choose to publish to a pool of shared instances, and more. To learn more about shared instances in the ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7 documentation, see documentation topic Configure service instance settings.
  • User Types – In 10.7, a new licensing model called user types has been introduced. With user types, you can flexibly license users based on their workflows, whether they view content, edit it, collect field data, author and publish maps, and more. For more information on user types, reference the user types blogand the User types, roles and privileges documentation topic.
  • ArcGIS Indoors – The new ArcGIS Indoors is now accessible through the ArcGIS Enterprise portal. It is a new product for indoor mapping, wayfinding, and location tracking using indoor positioning system (IPS) technology to enable 3D mapping and navigation inside a building and providing real-time streaming of building data. Learn more about ArcGIS Indoors here or watch a video.
  • Tracker for ArcGIS – At 10.7, you can now use Tracker for ArcGIS to record where users are and where they have been. Read Jeff Shaner’s blog to learn more about Tracker or watch the video “Location Tracking For Field Operations”.
  • ArcGIS Excalibur – ArcGIS Excalibur is a lightweight and intuitive  modern web-based/browser experience to work with imagery layers in your Web GIS. For more information on ArcGIS Excalibur, go here or read Megha Kakaraparti’s informative blog “ArcGIS Excalibur Is Coming Soon!”.
